Capacity Building (CB) and Development

1. Evolve the concept of special LED in member municipalities to bring together the public, private and community sectors in a strategic partnership to pursue local economic development in an integrated manner
2. Provide a platform for developing LED knowledge and sharing best practices and innovative programmes.
3. Support initiatives that ensure that UCLGA members at all levels receive ongoing training in local economic development.
4. Mobilise donor support for LED initiatives.
5.  Develop a targeted programme to mobilise resources to support economically depressed and underdeveloped communities.
6. Promote the adoption by local governments of pro-active measures to create enabling environments for entrepreneurship and self-employment to accelerate poverty minimisation and the reduction of hunger.
